Ali’s itsy bitsy bites- Fauchon Cafe

Target lunch

I woke up late and feeling so hungry and thinking to try something new. I did a quick checking on the net and found FAUCHON CAFE. Took my self and mine empty belly to discover this cafe.

Well, looking at it from outside, made me check my wallet. Lolo

ATMOSPHER:
From the time I entered all I can see is an elegant classy place. A lot of elements got my attention.

A good amount of space between the tables. Perfect lighting and color reflection.

Service:
The stuff looked elegant in their uniforms. Friendly and helpful. Good knowledge in what they are serving. They are lacking some communication skills among themselves. What I noticed, some of the waiters wearing gloves when they are dealing with the desert and others are not.

Dishes:

I’m glad that they have the option of a regular menu and iPad menu. I liked the ipad menu because it have photos of all these dishes.

When I was going through the menu, they served me a warm breads. White and brown  unfortunately I didn’t like it, doesn’t taste fresh and not delicious.

Chicken curry and basmati rice:

It was a nice combination between Thai curry coconut with traditional gozee rice.
Quiche Fermiere:

Before I describe this dish, I had a quiche in Paris, London, Italy and in a cheap bakery shop in Bahrain, this is one of the worst quiche I had. The presentation was nice and simple but, sory to say that the quiche was dry, Overcooked, tasteless dough.the flavors of the other components are lost because of the dough.

Mille feuille cake:
I was waiting for the desert moment woo woo. I had a quick peek on the desert display. There’s a lot of beautiful cakes, the are so tempting that I want to have all of them. I took the staff advice, to take one of the most popular desserts ( Millefeuille cake)

If you are lazy to go to the desert display and pick your cake, they will get you the display.

Well, the mille feuille cake is a very delicate and elegant cake that can impress everyone who taste it, but unfortunately it didn’t impress me. The creamy custard vanilla was nice, not over sweet. But My problem was with the puff pastry, it’s not crunchy and Doesn’t have that light golding color. It was hard dark brown pastry. Didn’t enjoy it at all.

Toilet

Very small for a big restaurant. It can fit two people and not in the same place.

Not impressed with the toilet hygiene.

Overall:
For the people who want to enjoy the elegant place it’s a recommended place, just bear in mind, you’ll be paying a lot for an average food.
